We are a contemporary American Craft Gallery featuring the work of over 100 artisans local to New Hampshire, New England and across the United States. Carrying a unique array of whimsical hand crafted works of art, Vessels & Jewels offers a respite from the busyness of everyday life. The gallery is designed to evoke feelings of magic and wonder; modeled after the work of Maurice Sendak and his famous words, “And the walls became the world all around.”
Our “living” gallery is bursting with items discovered in the natural world. Sticks, moss, stones, and living plants will guide you as you experience all that art and nature have to offer when paired. We invite people to stop by, have a cup of coffee and be inspired.
In addition to the craft gallery, Vessels & Jewels is also home to an open art studio. Workshops in mixed media, printmaking, painting and clay are offered regularly to the community. Our Resident Artists challenge students to deeply explore each medium, abandoning preconceptions about what is possible in the realm of art and craft. Meaningful experiences with the arts are fostered through our hands-on, student-centered approach. Under the guidance of our experienced Resident Artists, each student is encouraged to play freely with color, shape, design, texture and technique.
